While chatting with a coworker inside the building, our A.D.D.-riddled brains got off topic from scheduling music to talking about volcanoes. That makes sense, right?
But we got to talking about it, and it got me thinking. Does Michigan actually have any volcanoes, active or dormant?

In today's world, unfortunately, if you were looking for a little thrill, you won't find it here in, Michigan!
At one point in time, billions of years ago, Michigan did have active volcanoes, in fact, those volcanoes are what helped form the copper mines in Northern Michigan.
But, Wait! Michigan Does Have Volcanoes!
Don't be fooled! We do have volcanoes in Michigan, just not the type that spews out lava!
Here in the state of Michigan, we have something called ice volcanoes! Instead of magma, icy water spews out of Michigan's ice volcanoes.

While Michigan may not have any active volcanoes, which may be a good thing, we still have the natural beauty from out great lakes imitating the magma monsters of the world.
