According to Reports from ABC, a whopping 58,000 pounds of ground beef are being recalled in Michigan at this time, due to possible E. Coli contamination.

According to ABC, the following is on recall:

  • 10-lb. plastic tubes (chubs) of "90050 BEEF FINE GROUND 81/19" with lot code D123226026.
  • 80-lb. cases containing 10-lb. plastic tubes (chubs) of "20473 BEEF HALAL FINE GROUND 73/27" with lot code D123226027.
  • 80-lb. cases containing 10-lb. plastic tubes (chubs) of "20105 BEEF FINE GROUND 73/27" with lot code D123226027.

Georgia, Michigan, and Ohio are the states that are most affected by this massive recall.

What To Do If You Purchased The Ground Beef

The USDA is urging those who may have purchased the ground beef, to either get rid of it, or get your money back from where you purchased it from.

If you do get the sickness, you might notice symptoms within 3 to 4 days after contracting the sickness. However, symptoms may not show up until 1-14 days after original exposure.

There is also no specific treatment for e coli poisoning either, so the only way to get over it is to wait it out. If you do end up contracting e coli, it is best to stay hydrated.
