Mark Dantonio (pictured), the 13th year head football coach of Michigan State University, announced his resignation via his Twitter account on Tuesday afternoon:

Dantonio has led the program since 2007, taking the Spartans to three Big Ten titles, a Rose Bowl victory after the 2013 season.  And finally, a berth in the College Football Playoff after the 2015 season.

However, many fans have been disappointed in recent years with a pair of 7-6 seasons in 2018 and 2019.

According to WXYZ, Mike Tressel will serve as acting head coach while a search is conducted to find his replacement.
