If you grew up in the Lansing area, this is definitely a store that resonates with many of us here in the area. The mall itself has been in the community now since 1969. That means the meridian mall has been serving Lansing residents for nearly 50 years.

The mall isn't exactly a ghost town today yet either. We all know that malls are unfortunately a dying breed. This one still appears to be thriving.

Today, the store itself has 125 stores inside the building. Six of which are anchor stores, with one vacant anchor store.

Look Inside The Abandoned Yonkers in the Meridian Mall

While it does sit empty the majority of the year, you may recognize the Younkers as a Spirit of Halloween during the fall months.

As seen above, you can see the old escalator that is now blocked off, as well as tons of empty space in the spacious old department store location.

You can see light flooding into the room from the old outdoor entrance, but that's just about all that shines light into this part of the mall now.

It's sad to see this place sit now, however, it does get to open its doors every Halloween time when the Spirit of Halloween takes over this space.
