Well like I have been telling you for years you can not believe most media outlets especially those that proudly lean left. Now it is The Huffington Post and they are now possibly spreading disinformation about Michigan Charter schools.

The Michigan Capital Confidential news site is informing us of an article published in the rag titled “Michigan: The Poster Child for How Not to do Charter Schools" with a subheading of "Behind the Detroit schools crisis lies a troubling charter school sector" written by Amber Arellano, executive director of The Education Trust-Midwest. Apparently Ms. Arellano has a challenge with the facts.

What facts am I talking about? The Stanford University’s Center for Research on Education Outcomes (CREDO). CREDO is well known for their work in evaluating charter schools across the country in many states. Even President Obama's Secretary of Education, Arne Duncan, has acknowledge CREDO'S expertise in evaluating Charter Schools.

CREDO reviewed the Detroit charters and they scored Detroit Charter schools very highly. They believed that the Detroit Charter school students "receive the equivalent of at least a few weeks — and in some cases, as much as several months — of additional learning in reading and math compared with their peers at Detroit Public Schools".

The question now is why would Ms. Arellano write what she wrote?

Could it be an agenda hit piece?

Is she seeing data that the CREDO researchers did not?
