Lansing City Market Controversy May Be Decided at the Polls
WILX.com reports that the ongoing controversy surrounding the future of the Lansing City Market may be decided by city residents at the polls.
Lansing Mayor Andy Schor has reportedly asked Lansing City Council to propose to voters the sale of the market area to a private developer. Meanwhile, owners of the Waterfront Bar & Grill inside Lansing City Market also are petitioning to allow residents to have say in the market's fate.
But, according to the report, each side has a different goal. The city is exploring all options, including a potential event center. Waterfront Bar & Grill management want to keep the current structure as is, and work with city leaders on improving the current market.
