Snowbirds rejoice!

Starting in November, there's a sunny new Florida destination to which you'll be able to fly direct from Lansing.

Fly Nonstop from Lansing to Fort Myers

Avelo Air and Capital Region International Airport have announced that beginning November 11 and continuing into April, they will offer roundtrip service between Lansing and Fort Myers, Florida. The flights will depart Lansing on Fridays and Mondays.

Would-be travelers who book their flights by Tuesday, August 30, can take advantage of fares as low as $79 each way, not including government taxes and fees, and carrier charges.

The addition of the new Lansing-to-Fort Myers nonstop route comes on the heels of Avelo's announcement last month that it would begin roundtrip service in October between Lansing and Orlando.

According to Jim Olson, Head of Communications for Avelo Air, the company decided to launch the Fort Myers route after overwhelming success with its initial Orlando offering.

Officials with Avelo Air are not ruling out the possibility of more non-stop flights from Lansing being added in the future. Avelo already serves several other markets with flights to Tampa, Sarasota/Bradenton, West Palm Beach and Fort Lauderdale/Miami.
