Students in a Denver Colorado suburb decided to walk out of school to protest new history curriculum. The updated curriculum would promote history topics emphasizing citizenship, respect for authority, and patriotism.  They would also focus on the benefits of the free-market system as well as respect for individual rights. The protest was a sign of civil disobedience by students who feel civil unrest is what our country was built on.

In the proposal, the school board stated that the program would not "encourage or condone civil disorder, social strike or disregard of the law."
