The annual mural festival will brighten up the walls of Downtown Jackson for the third and final time in 2020 as announced recently by organizers.

An event that took off after the first one in 2018, MLive reports, brings in artists from around the world to cover blank building walls downtown with big, bright murals and brought in over 30,000 people the second time around in 2019.

The past two events covered 36 walls within a few city blocks and by the end of this year, and according to Co-Director Clay McAndrews, it should be up to 50 by the end of this year's festival.

The reason for this year being the final one, though, is not as sad as one might think!

"It's bittersweet, but all good things must come to an end," McAndrews said. "Frankly, we've just run out of walls."

Bright Walls' last "hoorah" will take place September 10th through the 15th of 2020 and promises to feature, of course, the art as well as music, activities, food and "some new features" as McAndrews told MLive.

So if you have been meaning to get down to Jackson and see what all "the hype" is about, mark your calendars!

You can still make your way downtown and see all the murals from past festivals until then.
