If you do not remember much about Stanley, I am here to tell you about him.

Born in Oklahoma City, Stanley was the son of former Cincinnati Bengals running back Stanley Wilson, Sr.

So, football ran in the family blood.

After graduating high school, Stanley Jr. went on to play four seasons on Stanford University's football team from 2001 to 2004.

As a senior, according to Wikipedia, Stanley made career highs

"with 54 tackles (41 solo and 2.5 for loss) and five passes defended, in addition to one interception returned for 51 yards, and earned honorable mention All-Pac-10 honors."

In the 2005 NFL Draft, Stanley was chosen by the Detroit Lions in the third round.

He played with the Lions from 2005 until 2007.

"In 32 games (nine starts) in the NFL, Wilson had 86 tackles (63 solos), eight passes deflected, and one forced fumble."

Unfortunately, on November 28 of 2007, Stanley was put on injured reserve because of a knee injury.

He re-signed with the Lions for a one-year deal in 2008 but sadly tore his Achilles tendon during a game against the New York Giants, which led to his career-ending.

Sadly, after this, Stanley fell into difficult times.

In 2016, he was shot by an elderly homeowner in Portland after Stanley attempted to break into the man's house while he was naked. Due to drugs and mental health complications, he was in and out of jail.

I cannot confirm this but, in a trial in 1999, Stanley's lawyer said that he suffered from bipolar disorder
