Ever found yourself stuck behind someone who seems to think a turn signal is an optional accessory? Or maybe witnessed the infamous "Michigan Left" where drivers make a U-turn to turn left and have felt the need to yell at them from inside your car? Welcome to driving in Great Lakes state.

With scenarios like that being more often than not, it's no surprise that Michigan is home to one of the top cities for the worst drivers in America. Forbes Advisor compiled data to assess and rank the "Cities with the Worst Drivers" across the country. Their team compared the 50 most populated cities in the nation across five key metrics. The analysis identified the cities where drivers engage in the most hazardous behavior that threatens public safety.

"Fatal car accidents are increasing across the country, with the number of deadly crashes climbing by nearly 10% from 2020 to 2022. In some cities, there is a higher percentage of dangerous drivers on the road, putting everyone at greater risk when they get behind the wheel", Forbes said.

Not only did a Michigan city make the list, but it ranked in the top 3 cities with the worst drivers. Detroit, renowned for its automotive prowess, also seems to be home to some of the most daring (or dare I say, reckless?) drivers in the nation.

Landing in the 3rd spot, the "D" had a score of 94.97 out of a possible 100 in the analysis. Albuquerque, New Mexico, topped the list of cities with the worst drivers, followed by Memphis, Tennessee in the number 2 spot.

Whether you're cruising down Woodward Avenue or dodging potholes on Gratiot, one thing's for sure, driving in Detroit is an adventure like no other. Be safe!
