Own a Piece of History—Two Frank Lloyd Wright Houses For Sale in Southwest Michigan
I feel like all of us try to make our homes an expression of who we are.
We take the time to pick out paint colors; we arrange the furniture just so; and we change out our seasonal decor.
But what if you had a house that had been specifically designed for you? And not just designed by Joe Blow down the street, how about one of the most famous architects in American history? That's what happened for these two homes in southwest Michigan.
Frank Lloyd Wright Designed Homes for Sale in Southwest Michigan
Frank Lloyd Wright is famous for his architectural designs that "harmonize both with their inhabitants and with their environment." With that in mind, he created these two homes in Kalamazoo County Michigan.
Allow me to welcome you to the Eppstein House,
and the Pratt House.
These are two homes were built specifically for the original owners, Samuel and Dorothy and Eric and Pat, respectively. Additionally, both these homes were designed and built in Wright's Usonian-style, meaning things were kept simple.
What I really love about these homes is that you can tell that they were designed to have people over. The open and airy living rooms and dining rooms with all the natural light are so inviting, I could see myself hosting holiday get togethers there with a fire on in the fireplace and music on vinyl filling the air with cheery tunes. I swear, these homes look like they've stepped right out of a time machine.
If you've got the money and the desire to own some awesome history, these homes will only cost you a cool $4.5 million. And they are a set, so if you want one, you get the other too.
Take a tour of the inside of these beautiful homes in the gallery below.
