MSU Fans Are Loving This New ‘Spartanopoly’ Board Game
Michigan State fans have a brand new reason to flip a table and set a couch on fire.
The classic board game Monopoly has been given a Spartan twist.
Gamemaker Late for the Sky has reimagined Monopoly - MSU style. Think of Spartanopoly as regular Monopoly, only based on Michigan State University and East Lansing instead of Atlantic City, New Jersey, like the original.
Spartanopoly Properties
Boardwalk and Park Place aren't part of Spartanopoly. Instead, this game's premier properties are The Union and the Hannah Administration Building at MSU. Other prized possessions for players include Berkey Hall, the Breslin Center and Spartan Stadium.
Instead of railroads, the middle space on each edge of the Spartanopoly board is named for one of the major thoroughfares around MSU: Grand River Avenue, West Circle Drive, Shaw Lane, and East Circle Drive. Buy them all and you'll be able to charge other players a pretty penny if they land on one of them.
Oh, and the Electric Company and Water Works utilities are gone - replaced in Spartanopoly by Fraternity and Sorority Row.
Other Spaces on the Spartanopoly Board
In Spartanopoly, the "Go" space remains the same as in traditional Monopoly, but the other corner spaces are different.
Spring Break is the equivalent of Free Parking; and instead of "Go to Jail", you may land on Academic Probation and be sent "home on break".

Monopoly's Chance and Community Chest spaces and cards have also been replaced with Campus Mail and Contingency ones for Spartanopoly.
