Lansing’s Got a New Late Night Food Option on the West Side

I was on the way home from a concert in Grand Rapids the other night, and didn't get back to Lansing until well after 1am. Not sure you're ever out that late, but one's options for a quick bite are pretty limited at that hour.

Sure, you could order pizza. Maybe grab a taco or a burger from some drive-thru. But residents on Lansing's west side now have another option.

New York Fried Chicken Is Now Open in Lansing

New York Fried Chicken opened a location on North Grand River Avenue just west of the airport in Lansing in January 2025, with a menu that offers much more than the restaurant's name suggests.

There's no room to dine-in at New York Fried Chicken; you can either stop in and get your food to-go, or order delivery - but check this out.

I walked into New York Fried Chicken at 1:30am on a Saturday night and was surprised by the variety of food available. In addition to its namesake fried chicken (available by the piece, as nuggets, strips, wings or tenders), they've got burgers, gyros, quesadillas, burritos, wraps, seafood and salads. You can also order breakfast and even dessert! Pizza and pasta are coming attractions.

I tried the 3-piece dinner box with mashed potatoes and a roll, and was not disappointed. The chicken was flavorful, and just the right amount of juicy. The service was fast and friendly. I'll be back.

New York Fried Chicken is open 7 days a week in Lansing. They open every day at 11am. Sunday through Thursday nights they're open until midnight, and until 2am on Friday and Saturday nights.
