A New Restaurant is Taking Over the Old Golden Corral

According to the Lansing State Journal, the former all-you-can-eat buffet is going to be turned into a "buffet-style hot pot barbecue restaurant" called IPot.

For anyone unfamiliar with the concept of hot pot, it involves a simmering pot or soup or broth that gets set up in the middle of the table, and then you get all kinds of raw ingredients (meats and veggies) to dunk in the simmering pot and cook them. It's a fun a delicious way to enjoy a meal with a group of people.

If that sounds like something you'd like to try, you will have to wait a little bit for IPot to open; at this moment, there is no timeline on when the restaurant will open. Permits still need to pass and renovations still need to be done before they can open. Even one of the property owners, Andy Dong, said, "this project, it will take a long time".

Until then, there are a few other places in the greater Lansing area that serve hot pot.
