When Michiganders leave the polls this November, their "I Voted" sticker is going to look a lot different from how they have in the past.

Normally, once you've cast your vote and your ballot has been counted, you receive a little blue or white oval "I Voted" sticker. This is basically the adult's "gold star" sticker equivalent... you did your civic duty, good job! Here's a sticker and a new president.

Here's the thing, new politicians aren't the only thing you can vote for this year. This year, Michiganders can vote on the new, "I Voted" sticker.

You Can Vote on Michigan's New "I Voted" Sticker

This year, the Michigan Department of State is hosting the inaugural "I Voted" sticker contest for the State of Michigan. Over 480 submissions were entered into this contest, and so far it's been narrowed down to 75 submissions, 25 from each category; Elementary/Middle School, High School, and General (open to the public).

From here, people can vote on their top three favorites from each category, helping to narrow it down to the finalists. You can vote on your favorites until July 31st at 11:59 pm. The winners will be announced in August, and the "winning stickers will be available for election clerks to order for the November election." Hopefully, the election clerks will order these, because I will not be settling for the boring "I Voted" sticker when these epic ones are available.

Like a good Michigander doing their civic duty, I voted for my favorites. If you'd like to as well, you can cast your vote HERE. If you want to see the real winning stickers (in my humble opinion, of course) check them out below. It was difficult, but I ranked them... and I saved the best for last.

I love the use of Michigan's state bird and flower all in one. Plus, just a very well-done drawing.

Now this is art. We've got a deer rocking shades and a Michigan hat? That's one cool deer.

This is actually one of two submissions from Madelyn, and boy is she talented. This is truly a work of art.

Jane is an artist from the Elementary/Middle school category, and obviously the coolest person in Michigan. A werewolf ripping its shirt off with the American flag in the background? I didn't know something so patriotic could exist.

Is it a mouse? Is it an alien? I don't know... But what I do know is that it's partying and it's awesome!
