Each school's college readiness was evaluated, including the percentages of students who took and/or passed Advanced Placement (AP) or International Baccalaureate (IB) exams.

The report calculated a College Curriculum Breadth Index for each school, taking into consideration how many students passed AP or IB exams in multiple subjects.

Performance and proficiency in each state's individual assessment tests was also taken into account, along with each school's graduation rate and how well underserved students (Black, Hispanic, and/or low-income) performed.

What Makes Michigan's International Academy Stand Out?

International Academy is a magnet school serving 13 different southeast Michigan school districts. It aims to provide "a unique blend of rigorous academic standards, practical and career-related learning as well as personal development opportunities".

The school's reading, math and science scores back up the recognition - with proficiency ratings well in excess of the other schools in their districts and even further above state averages.
