A new nationwide study revealing America's best real estate markets for 2025 features some encouraging news for several Michigan cities.
The rankings, published by the personal finance website WalletHub, focus not only on cities' respective real estate markets, but also how affordable they are and their overall economic environments.

7. Livonia
Livonia's affordability and economic environment numbers were better than anywhere else in Michigan — ranking 25th best in the nation — but several other cities in the state outperformed it in terms of the forecast for home values and appreciation rates. Livonia lands at #7 overall for Michigan.
6. Warren
The overall real estate market in Warren is 159th in the nation, but it's good enough for 6th in Michigan.
5. Lansing
WalletHub says the Lansing real estate market ranks 5th in Michigan, and 135th for the nation as a whole.
4. Dearborn
Only 3 Michigan cities have better real estate markets than Dearborn, according to WalletHub. The city does, however, boast the second most affordable market in the state.

3. Ann Arbor
Ann Arbor is used to performing well on lists like these, but the city has to settle for 3rd on this one. WalletHub says Ann Arbor's real estate market is 88th-best in the country overall.
2. Sterling Heights
Sterling Heights has the second-best real estate market in Michigan, according to WalletHub. It ranks 80th-best in the country.
1. Grand Rapids
If you're seeking the best real estate market in Michigan, look to Grand Rapids. WalletHub says while it may not be the most affordable, you'll get more bang for your buck here.
