See Inside the Last Video Rental Store in Michigan

Back in the day, video rental stores used to be dotted across Michigan. For some of us, a trip to Blockbuster or Family Video to pick out a new movie to watch was the highlight of the weekend.

However, with advancements in technology, people can watch movies from basically anywhere on one device or another. All it takes is a phone with a decent signal or Wi-fi, and a streaming service of some kind.

Are There Any Video Rental Places Open in Michigan?

Long gone are the days of walking up and down the aisles at video rental stores, looking at the covers of VHS and DVD boxes to decide what you wanted to rent that week (even though I always knew I was going to pick Spice World).

Video rental places have all closed down in Michigan... save for one.

Take a trip with me to my my hometown of Dearborn Heights, where sits, the last video rental store in the Mitten State: Video Exclusive.

The Last Video Rental Store in Michigan

Video Exclusive, located on Telegraph Road just south of Warren, has been in business for over 30 years. And, it is still in business today!

Recently, Dorin, the son of the family that owns Video Exclusive, posted a video to TikTok.

In the video, he lets viewers know that this is the last video rental place in Michigan, and they they don't plan on closing anytime soon.

In fact, they're working on improvements and some changes to the building and its offerings.

I love that this business from my past is still standing and in business. If feels like such a piece of beloved nostalgia. If you love movies and 90's nostalgia, I would highly suggest making the trip.
