We have a lot of bugs in Michigan. Tons of mosquitoes during the summertime and annoying pests that swarm us during the warmer months. Which ones should you squish immediately because they are an invasive species?

As you can see in the pictures below, these are the species we've grown to strongly dislike. I'm not the guy who kills bugs every time I see them. I will however be on the lookout for the following pests to do my part to protect our state from pests.

These beetles aren't any good. This guy likes to bully trees. He grows inside of them and feeds on living nutrients that keep the tree alive. You know what we do with bugs that are bullies? SQUISH THEM!

These ugly critters? Yeah, they love to lay eggs in your fruit. Especially cherries (it's other name is the European Cherry Fruit Fly.) This pest is directly harmful to fruit, to if you see him flying about... be sure to give him the right act!
