When it comes to breakfast, there's one item on a breakfast menu that I order most, the omelette. I can get everything I love about breakfast in one meal.

I think that "tastes" change during our lifetime. When I was a kid I was a big fan of pancakes, french toast and cinnamon rolls. There was a place back home in St. Joe called Timbers that used to serve up the best breakfasts. They opened up at 5am so the fishermen could grab a solid breakfast before heading out on Lake Michigan to fish. Yeah, I was weird, I would get up early and go have breakfast before high school.

Although I still have a sweet tooth, I have been eliminating carbs from my diet. Trying to stay healthy means changing my diet. I am a big fan of omelettes, nowadays I'm going veggie omelette with turkey sausage. I'm also a fan of omelettes that have the "items" placed in the omelette and folded versus an egg pie omelette.

Lansing has some pretty amazing breakfast joints to grab a bite. I've been to many breakfast places in Lansing and one of my favorite places to go is Zeus' on Lansing's south side. They have a greek omelette that's amazing including gyro meat.

Everyone has their "go to" place for breakfast. With the help of yelp I've narrowed down the choices for best omelettes.

Blondie's Barn - 5640 Marsh Rd Haslett, MI 48840

Keely N:

Came upon this place while visiting my son at MSU. I'm such a sucker for good ole fashioned diner type places! I don't know why?! But this place delivered. Portions big enough for a small family to eat off for a week! Just kidding; but you WILL NOT leave hungry. Coffee pipping hot and all the yummy clog your arteries breakfast fare and handful of lunch items. Menu is under a glass on the table for easy viewing and no sticky fingerprints. I got the asparagus omelette trying to be slightly healthy lol. It also had ham and mushrooms in it and served with a side of home fries and huge hunk of pumpkin bread. Was very good. I love when they prepare the omelette with the ingredients incorporated throughout the egg not folded in center! So that right there wins them 5 stars! My husband got the fireman special with hash browns and sour dough toast.  Great little spot tucked in off the road.

The Soup Spoon Cafe - 1419 E Michigan Ave Lansing, MI 48912

We had a great time at Flap Jack.  We got together with our daughter and her fiance for a visit.  We all had different breakfasts and everything was delicious.  Our server was fabulous and we enjoyed our food.  My husband got a create your own omelette and I got the eggs, sausage and flap jacks.  Our daughter is a vegetarian and had lots to choose from.  I liked the fact that you could mix/match what you wanted.  We will be back.
