Major Pet Food Recall Hitting Michigan
Lystn, LLC, doing business as ANSWERS Pet Food out of Fleetwood, PA, is voluntarily pulling certain lots of their Detailed Beef Formula for Dogs, Straight Beef Formula for Dogs, and Straight Chicken Formula for Dogs off the shelves.
Why?
Apple Cider Could Make You Sick in Michigan
Well, the FDA found some samples testing positive for Salmonella and Listeria monocytogenes, so they’re taking no chances. There haven’t been any confirmed illnesses, but it’s better to be safe than sorry.
These bacteria can affect both animals and humans. Pets who eat the contaminated food might get sick, and humans handling the products (especially without proper handwashing) could be at risk, too.
Symptoms of salmonella in humans include stomach cramps, diarrhea, nausea, and fever. Listeria is no joke either—it can lead to muscle aches, headaches, and even more severe issues in those with weakened immune systems.
