12 Counties in Michigan at High COVID-19 Community Level

Just when you think it's safe to go back into work, restaurants, special events, sporting events, and even family gatherings, it's time to mask up due to COVID-19.

It's like for a brief while, we all forgot about the COVID-19 virus. It's still out there and the numbers in Michigan are rising again.

Currently there are 12 Michigan counties that are dealing with a high COVID-19 Community Level.

Before we give you all 12 counties, I just want to say that in the last week alone, I've had family members test positive, co-workers test positive and even several of my friends have tested positive. There's just no end in sight!

As for the 12 Michigan counties with high COVID-19 levels, here they are courtesy of mlive.com:

Twelve of Michigan’s 83 counties are at the high level as of July 28, according to the CDC: Wayne, Oakland, Macomb, Washtenaw, Monroe, Kalamazoo, Manistee, Schoolcraft, Delta, Marquette, Ontonagon and Gogebic counties.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is highly recommending social distancing and wearing a mask in these high level Michigan areas.

Regardless of being vaccinated or not, it's important to mask up in crowded areas for not only your safety, but for the safety of others.

Let's break it all down when it comes to high COVID-19 levels-mlive.com:

A county is at a high level when there are 200 or more new cases per 100,000 in the past week and either (a) 10-plus new COVID-19 hospital admissions per 100,000 or (b) when at least 10% of the staffed inpatient beds are occupied by COVID patients.If hospitalizations are particularly high, even a county with low cases can be at a high level, per the CDC formula.
