There’s something about a well-made cheeseburger that really makes you feel like a true American. Over the years I have had the pleasure of going to so many great local restaurants and trying some incredible burgers with the help of the community speaking up for these great family-owned restaurants.

Most recently I had a burger at the saloon in Mackinaw City which may have been one of the best burgers I’ve ever eaten. But it seems that there is another place in Michigan that people travel to regularly, as many feel they have the best burgers you can get anywhere. The thing about this is that this is actually a 90-year-old diner in Clare, Michigan that was established back in 1935.

The Whitehouse Diner in Clare isn't just a great burger, they also have a special recipe for the chorizo and are home to Flint's original Coney dog. On top of all that they also make homemade soups, omelets pies, and other classic diner food. Period.

They also will frequently throw on the smoker and cook up ribs and pulled pork as well. It’s very hard to have a family-owned business, especially through the pandemic, but this business has been thriving for nearly 90 years, and the reviews on their website.

Whatever they are doing, they are doing a good job so if you ever find yourself saying that you’ve had the best burger you’ve ever had, you may need to head over to Whitehouse to challenge that statement. Have you ever been here before? Let us know about your experience.
