I'm a 30-something-year-old man who has the sense of humor of a 16-year-old.

I tell you this because when I saw a video on Instagram the other day I almost spit out water all over my laptop.

The video was about a Michigan college and school apparel that was being sold that would make your mother blush.

After looking into it I discovered it wasn't the first time the college has dealt with this issue.

Michigan College Addresses C-U-M Apparel That's For Sale Online

Back in November 2020, photographs of Concordia University of Michigan merchandise featuring the unfortunate acronym "CUM" went viral on social media.

The products, which included t-shirts, hats, and sweatshirts, appeared to be official school merchandise, causing some people to be upset and others to laugh.

The university quickly clarified that these items were not actually affiliated with the school.

Lisa Liljegren, the Assistant Vice President of Strategic Communications at Concordia University Wisconsin, which oversees the Michigan campus, stated that the university had "no idea how this happened" and that the items were a "surprise" to them as well.

After investigating, the merchandise was found for sale on multiple websites, allowing users to create custom online stores for various schools and teams.

Many of these website's disclaimers made it clear that the "CUM" products were not officially licensed or endorsed by Concordia University of Ann Arbor, the school's actual name.

It appears that this apparel issue has once again returned.

I found on the university website page the following message addressing the apparel.

Concordia University Ann Arbor is aware of the apparel websites that have recently surfaced. These are independent sites and are not affiliated or endorsed by Concordia University Ann Arbor. The contents of the images displayed on the websites and on social media platforms are not reflective of the Concordia University Ann Arbor brand or mission. Concordia has been diligent in taking the necessary steps to have the apparel items removed on these websites. Concordia is in partnership with Underground Printing as the official online apparel provider. Official Concordia apparel can be purchased online at shop.cuaa.edu.

I'll admit when I saw the apparel I chuckled a bit.

But as I mentioned earlier, I'm a 30-something guy who has the sense of humor of a 16-year-old boy.
