Calling All Gator Hunters! Crockery Lake Needs Your Help
If you haven't been following the news of out Ottawa County there have been several sightings of an alligator believed to be 4-6 feet in length at Crockery lake.
The first sighting was reported on July 25th when two residents saw something by their shore that looked very much like a gator.
Unfortunately before they could get a picture it jumped back into the water.
The second sighting was on Sunday, August 4th, a man fishing at the park saw what he thought was a 6 foot gator but wasn't able to get a picture.
After these reported sightings the Michigan DNR was called and 4 officers were out at the lake looking for it.
There have also been multiple reports of large splashes and spooked water fowl which leads people to believe the crocodile could be in the lake.
Recently on Wednesday, August 8th, two more people saw the crocodile in the water on the north side of the lake.
Just like the other sightings it went underwater before they could get a picture of it.
DNR and Ottawa County Parks Department are aware of the crocodile sightings but won't return to lake Crockery until it's captured on video or with a picture.
