Chris Hansen Catches Eastern Michigan Professor In Child Predator Sting
A popular sleepover favorite amongst my friends was pulling up clips of Chris Hansen's "To Catch A Predator" and watching scum of the earth getting exposed for talking to innocent minors in the most embarrassing way imaginable: on television and documented in a way they will never be able to escape.
While it's a morbid curiosity to watch someone on the other side of the country getting caught in this act, it becomes far more real when someone in your home state gets caught. It's even worse when the predator is a professor at a university, a place parents trust with their kids.

Takedown With Chris Hansen
While Chris Hansen's famous "To Catch A Predator" series about confronting men who have been talking to minors online ran from 2004-2007, he returned to sting operations in his new series "Takedown with Chris Hansen" in 2022 on the TruBlu Streaming Network.
To Catch A Professor
In a sting that took place on September 26-27 where undercover investigators chatted with "150 to 250 adults about having sex with a minor", a startling number on its own but horrifying in such a short time. In that time, the team made two arrests, one of which was 63-year-old professor Vijay Mannari from Eastern Michigan University.
According to Eastern Michigan University's directory, Vijayjumar Mannari is a faculty member in the Engineering department. He has taught at the school since 2003 and has been a full-time professor since 2012.
He has since been banned from campus and his job suspended. EMU has called Mannari's actions "detestable and abhorrent" and that they stand against everything the University stands for.
You can read the University's full statement here. The professor has not been charged with anything and was released on bail, but charges are expected anytime.
