Michigan Woman Found Living in Family Fare Sign

A Michigan woman has been dubbed the "Rooftop Ninja" after living in a Family Fare sign in Midland for a year.

Looks like a nice closet right? A woman snuck into a man's unlocked apartment and found a storage space where she lived. She managed to get a futon in the storage space and would shower and eat his food while the man was at work. He set up a surveillance camera and caught the woman in the act.  Authorities charged her with trespassing.

People have been found living inside malls, and airports, and one man was even found living in a cave on private property complete with a bed, front door, solar panels, wood-burning stove, and satellite radio. The man got away with it for years until someone spotted the smoke from the wood-burning stove.

One woman found that he ex-boyfriend had been secretly living in her attic for 12 years. People can get creative when they want to survive but getting away with living in your ex's attic for 12 years is creepy.

Michigan Woman Found Living in Family Fare Sign in Midland

A bizarre story has popped up from Midland, Michigan, regarding a 34-year-old woman who set up her home in the Family Fare sign. The woman managed to live in the sign for a year. She decorated the place with a houseplant, included a desk, put in flooring, and a food pantry, ran power with an extension cord to a plug on the roof, and called it her home.

According to the Midland Daily News, the woman was known as the "Rooftop Ninja." Luckily when police caught up with her they told her she had to leave and didn't charge her with trespassing. The woman was offered housing assistance but said no thanks.

The woman was not an employee of Family Fare but did have a job and a car. It amazes me that with video cameras inside and outside of stores, no one noticed her coming in and out of the sign but maybe that is where the Rooftop Ninja came from. It took a construction worker on the roof who followed an extension cord to discover the Ninja's domain. This store is allowing her to retrieve her furniture and belongings. Talk about a tough economy.
