Michigan is About to Get One More Arctic Blast
Michigan has been spoiled with such a light winter and unseasonably warmer temperatures. Before you break out your swimsuit there's one more arctic blast.
Michigan's Unseasonably Warm Winter
This has been consistently the warmest winter weather I have ever experienced in all my years living in Michigan.
There are remnants of the only snowstorm we had on January 12-13, 2024, and there is no snow in some areas of the state. My best friend lives in the Upper Peninsula, normally a winter wonderland, and he has had the least snowfall ever in his 35-plus years of living there.
I didn't get to go ice fishing once this year, but the one snowstorm we had at least allowed my son and I to get out on the snowmobiles a couple of weekends before melting away.
This past weekend, I had already begun planning my spring projects, but then I got word of another arctic blast that may bring some snow to West Michigan.
Michigan is About to Get One More Arctic Blast
The weather experts are saying that the back end of February will be much colder than the first half and even come with some significant snowfall depending on where you live.
According to weather.com, a mixture of rain and snow will start after midnight on Thursday morning February 15. There will be some light freezing rain in some areas but the areas north of I-96 will more than likely see some snow.
Areas east and west of Grand Rapids and the city will get roughly 1 to 3 inches of snow but for those of you living north of the city, we are talking 3 to 5 inches of snow. Looks like I might have to plow one more time before spring hits. This should be the last Arctic blast for 2024 but brace yourself for the next couple of days driving to and from work or wherever you have to go.
