It's been called Michigan's "signature dish" and the "top sandwich in the state", due to the state's rich history with ham, particularly in Detroit.

This time around, it's a different style of sandwich receiving top honors as Michigan's "must try" bucket list sandwich!

Lovefood.com sought to find the top sandwich in each state based on reviews, awards, and the genuine experiences of their team.

No stranger to accolades, the restaurant serving the state's best sammy has also been named the top deli in Michigan...

Lovefood's pick for the best sandwich in Michigan is the Zingerman's Reuben from Zingerman's Delicatessen in Ann Arbor.

The sandwich is stacked with Black Angus Corned Beef, Emmental Swiss Cheese, Artisan Sauerkraut, housemade Russian Dressing on Toasted Rye from Zingerman's own bakery. It often tops lists of the very best sandwiches in the U.S.

First opening as a deli in 1982, Zingerman's now now includes a full-service bakery, candy shop, coffee roastery, and even a working farm. They sell their own oils and vinegars as well.

On the menu you'll find a huge selection of meats and cheeses, plus mouth-watering, made-to-order massive deli sandwiches. Pick from Corned Beef, Pastrami, Beef, Turkey, Chicken, Pork, Vegetarian, Tuna, plus a variety of toppings.
