The University of Michigan Wolverines are ranked number 1 in college football after defeating Alabama in the first round of the National Football Playoffs but have one more team to get through to claim the title.
Michigan will square off against the number 2 ranked Washington Huskies on Monday, January 8, at NRG Stadium in Houston, Texas. Kick-off is set for 7:30 p.m. If you plan to watch the game will be broadcast on ESPN.
Michigan and Washington have played against each other only 13 times in 73 years. The last time the two teams met was in 2021 when the Wolverines defeated the Huskies 31-10. Michigan leads the series 8-5 and we will soon find out who wins in the two teams 14th meeting.

In the early 1900s, Michigan dominated the College Football National Championship by winning in 1901, 1902, 1903, and 1904. Michigan also took the title in 1918, 1923, 1933, and in 1948.
The last time the Wolverines won the College National Football Championship was in 1997 when they defeated the Washington State Cougars 21-16.
It has been 26 years since Michigan's last National Championship and we will soon see if Blake Corum and the rest of the Wolverines will be able to pull down another title.
