Staying in a hotel, even as an adult, never fails to make me feel a bit giddy. Something is exciting about going to sleep in a big, fancy, plush bed, and then waking up and running the shower water just a little too hot. I revel in the high shower pressure of a hotel shower.

Bye Bye Bottles

Upon entering a hotel, your first stop might be the bathroom where you're traditionally greeted by a package containing little bottles of shampoo, conditioner, lotion, and more. Eliminate Single-Use Plastics

Multiple states have introduced laws forcing hotels with more than 50 rooms to stop offering travel-sized bottles to combat this high waste by the end of 2024. Hotel chains like Marriott and IHG Hotels & Resorts have stopped using bottles on their own, but other states are introducing similar legislation.

It would only make sense that Michigan may soon introduce similar mandates, considering there are few negatives to dissuading these products and many hotels have begun placing shampoo, conditioner, and body wash pumps inside the shower itself.
