2024 has been filled with many clear nights which are great for stargazing. My son and I have seen a lot of good shooting stars. When I visited my son last night I saw a shooting star.

It has also been a great year for seeing the Northern Lights although my son and I have not caught them yet. I recently drove across the Upper Peninsula twice and was hoping to catch the Northern Lights but came up empty.

I have a lot better luck spotting a shooting star (meteor) than the Northern Lights but I did miss a meteor that flew across West Michigan over the weekend.

I did a lot of yard work over the weekend but stopped each day at the edge of the dark so I didn't see the meteor that passed through West Michigan but someone caught it on video.
