Kent County Once Again Hit with Construction Site Thefts
The Kent County Sheriff's Office is once again warning about a string of construction site thefts.
Construction Site Thefts Continue in Kent County, Mich.
In mid-April, police informed residents that approximately $23,000 worth of trailers, tools, and construction materials had been stolen from different job sites since the start of the month.

Now, nearly that amount has been stolen in one week.
According to KCSO, they've seen a spike in overnight thefts from construction sites in Ada and Cascade Townships within the last week. Also, Gaines Township had one firework vendor broken into and a generator was stolen.
Overall, approximately $22,000.00 worth of generators, tools, and construction materials were stolen throughout our county during this time frame.
Who is the Target of Construction Site Thefts in Kent County?
Kent County police share that mainly housing developments and larger remodeling projects are being robbed.
They're encouraging people living in the new developments to call KCSO if they see or hear anything suspicious.

Construction companies and firework vendors are also encouraged to have cameras installed where their equipment is being stored so law enforcement can quickly identify suspects if property is stolen.
