If you'd love some lodging recommendations, a new ranking has named the top ten hotels in Michigan.

U.S. News and World Report compiled the list of the very best stays in Michigan based on industry awards, guest reviews, and hotel class ratings.

In addition, a hotel must have at least 20 guest rooms to be ranked by U.S. News. The publication does not currently rank rank apartments, vacation rentals, or cabins.

This year's top resorts are located all over the state, in locations like Grand Rapids, Detroit, Mackinac Island, Walloon Lake, Midland, and Rochester.

You'll find cozy boutique hotels to sprawling luxury resorts.
