The magical location in Michigan to make the cut is the American Museum of Magic in Marshall.

Dubbed "the Smithsonian of American Magic", the museum has been in operation at in downtown Marshall since 1978.

The museum claims to have the largest collection of magic memorabilia open to the public. Curators care for a collection of over 3,000 posters, 12,000 books, and 20,000 photographs. You'll find exhibits dedicated to Harry Houdini and Harry Blackstone Sr., who spent much of his life in Michigan.

There are special speaking events and on Saturdays, the museum hosts magic shows.

Plus October is magic month at the museum! There will be special events like the Lantern Tour, which is scheduled for Oct. 19. You can Explore the more frightful side of magic history with a candlelight tour of their historic building. You'll hear true stories of murder and mishaps, scandal and seances… and experience a bit of magic too! Tickets will be on sale soon.

Admission to the American Museum of Magic is $7 for adults, $4.50 for kids, and children under five are free.

Note that December through March, the museum is open by appointment only. April through November, the museum is closed Monday and Tuesday. It's open Wednesday through Saturday 11a.m. to 4p.m. and Sunday 12p.m. to 4p.m.
