Is Your Job Killing You? Seriously!
New German research seems to indicate that those high-stress, high-paying jobs, could do more than increase your heart rate. It could increase your risk of diabetes.
The study reported by MSN.com [http://healthyliving.msn.com/diseases/diabetes/the-crazy-thing-that-puts-you-at-risk-for-diabetes] found that those who reported a higher risk of type 2 diabetes were those who had to meet tight deadlines, had too much to do, or had conflicting demands made on their time.
The researchers at the University of California-Irvine believe that chronic tension stimulates the release of the stress hormone cortisol, which can impair how your body regulates blood sugar.
Those with higher "stress" factors, were 45% more likely to develop diabetes than those in calmer environments.
The study tracked participants for a 13-year period.
The report found the most comment reason for increased stress--backed up emails!
