Is Real Change Coming with President Trump?
I hope you had the opportunity to watch the celebration concert last night, a first step in the grandeur of the peaceful transfer of power here in the United States.
These are times we need to come together as a country, not this war that the Democrat party has decided to wage against this President-Elect and soon to be the 45th President of the United States.
I know there of those of you out there who did not vote for Donald Trump and stated you would never vote for him but the decision by the people of America has been made. We must now come together and support the office if not the person in the office.
There is plenty of time for the opposition party to oppose the policies. I repeat oppose the policies and not the office or the man. Just like the Republicans debated the policies not the man or the office at that time. Many on the left believed the opposition was to the man Barak Obama and not his policies but they were and are wrong. It was the policies that the opposition was against, policies that they believed would head our country in the wrong direction. I believe those worries bore them self out to be true.
As President Reagan said in his first inaugural address on January 20th 1981:
Now, so there will be no misunderstanding, it is not my intention to do away with government. It is, rather, to make it work-work with us, not over us; to stand by our side, not ride on our back. Government can and must provide opportunity, not smother it; foster productivity, not stifle it.
The United States is a great nation, but we can and have been greater. We as a nation face many serious challenges that need to be addressed and needs to be addressed now. Two key ones relate to the need to ensure fiscal sustainability of our country and achieve true government transformation. Government transformation in which we change the way our government actually works and take it back to the way the constitution was written.
We have swayed too far from the original intent of the Constitution which was written for the people that means us. Do you remember the Preamble to our Constitution:
We the People of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare, and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity
Government transformation which gets back to working for all the people and not special interest or groups.
Government transformation which thinks that we do not have to do it that way because that is the way it was always done. We have become a government that has become so stuck in its ways and on autopilot that it serves none of us well.
Government transformation which thinks outside of the box and serves the people, a government run more like a business and less like a handout machine when it comes to jobs and money.
Government transformation not necessarily rooted only in policies but how the day to day operations of the government is run.
You might not know but Thomas Jefferson wrote, about the necessity of "a little rebellion now and then" in politics.
Has that rebellion come in the way of the movement behind the election of Donald Trump?
It is time to give this President a chance, a chance to see if he will transform the way government works running the day to day operations of our government and if the policies he chooses to pursue will actually work for the forgot man and women.
Yesterday at the celebration President-Elect Donald Trump said:
It all begins today! I will see you at 11:00 A.M. for the swearing-in. THE MOVEMENT CONTINUES — THE WORK BEGINS!
