While residents in the Saginaw County Community of St. Charles continue to clean up from Wednesday's severe weather, come questions on whether it was caused by a tornado.

MLive.com is reporting today that residents believe it was a twister that riped through the southwest portion of the community downing trees and power line, damaging homes and blowing at least one garage off its foundation.

Those from the National Weather Service are now investigating the claim but say the damage is consistent with straight line winds as well.  They have yet to make a final determination.

The area was under a tornado warning for a time last night from the system that passed through shortly after 6 o'clock.

A NWS survey crew is now on scene to determine--from the pattern of damage-- what was actually at fault.

Residents, though, say there is no doubt in their minds that it was a tornado--and a good-sized one--at that.
