The most important letter in the words community and unity is U. You make Ingham County a great place to live, work, and visit. Come celebrate our diversity and unity in the community at this event. - Ingham County Undersheriff Andrew Bouck

I couldn't agree more. I have said this for decades. Without unity, there is no community.

We thrive in Ingham County because of the residents that live here. Another word we could incorporate more in our neighborhoods, cities and counties is "WE". We can do amazing things. This evening is all about unification.

The event is free to the all county residents. Parking fee is waved at Hawk Island for this event on Friday, September 16th. Hawk Island is located at  E. Cavanaugh in Lansing. The Unity In the Community event will also have plenty of live entertainment, free food, live band and so much more.

Bring the kids along too. There will be lots of activities for the kids including face painting, bounce house, splash pad, water park, horseshoes, playground, volleyball, hiking, fishing, moonwalk, giant slide, dunk tank, games and prizes and plenty of county department exhibitors. Enjoy the food and prizes while supplies last.

If there is a divide in our county then we can do our part to come together and unify. It starts with some fun, free food and laughter. Hopefully you can make it out to the event on Friday. Meeting some new people, making new friends and having a blast is how we can come together. Hope to see you there.
