ICYMI: Mason Football Team Shows Big Heart and High Standard of Class
The Lansing State Journal was quick to report on the high standard of class that has been instilled into the Mason High School Bulldogs Football Program.
In case you missed it, the Bulldogs not only picked up an impressive road win over perennial power Muskegon Oakridge last Friday, they showed the heart of true champions when it came to supporting a special needs student from Oakridge.
According to the LSJ write-up, Mason Coach Gary Houghton was approached by the Oakridge coaching staff during the week leading up to the game about running an untimed down to help Oakridge senior Fletcher Payne experience the thrill of scoring a touchdown. The coach and his players were more than happy, even excited, to be a part of something so special.
No words can express the grandeur of such a display of sportsmanship. You need to click here to see video of the play from the original LSJ report!! Awesome!
