The Michigan State Police have released information regarding the arrest of a Howell High School teacher accused of possessing child pornography. 56-year old Duane Millar of East Lansing was arraigned on one charge of possession of child sexually abusive material and one count of using a computer to commit a crime in 54-B District Court on Thursday.

An investigation was launched by the MSP Computer Crimes Unit and Michigan Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force after a tip was received about Millar's alleged activity. Google gave information to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children about sexually abusive activity by one of its account users. Authorities took Millar into custody on Wednesday. If found guilty, he faces four years in prison and a $100,000 fine for the possession charge; 4-10 years and a $5000 fine for the charge of using the computer to commit the act.
