In an executive order issued on Thursday morning, Michigan governor Gretchen Whitmer has stopped all in-person learning K-12 for the remainder of the school year unless the current state of emergency and state of disaster orders are lifted.

All school buildings will be shut down as a result of this order.  All schools in the state of Michigan have been shut down since March 16th due to the coronavirus pandemic.

This order also suspends all sports/extracurricular activities (K-12) through the rest of the school unless the same state of emergency and disaster is lifted.

Lots of school administrators have commented on the executive order.  You can read some of their comments here, via the Detroit Free Press.
