Government Programs and Eternal Life

Would it not be refreshing to have a politician that actually would end a program that is not working?

I believe so.  I want a leader who will objectively look at all our government programs and determine what is working well for the American people and what is not.  If a program is not meeting its objectives or the objectives are not needed then shut it down.  Why continue to waste taxpayer dollars.

Well that is exactly what Donald Trump and other business men and women do in the business world and I believe that can and should translate to the political world.

News Channel 10 from Atlantic City is reporting that the Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City will be closing down at the end of the year because it is losing millions of dollars a month.  The business now belongs to Trump's friend and fellow billionaire Carl Icahn, who decided he can no longer support a casino losing millions of dollars each month amid a crippling strike.

Yes it is very sad that many people will lose their jobs, I certainly would not want to lose my job.  But how can we ask for a business to consistently lose money month after month.  No one including the U.S. government has an endless bucket of money, although our politicians for decades have been acting like we do.

At some point these leaders we elected musts review all our programs and make an objective decision whether to keep funding these programs with our money or not.  Why do we believe that government is totally different than business when it comes to many, not all but many of our government programs.

Government is not different, our elected leaders just keep piling on program after program and it seems never reviewing existing programs to determine whether they are actually needed.  This does not have to be a pipe dream, it can be reality.

Remember what President Ronald Reagan said:

No government ever voluntarily reduces itself in size. Government programs, once launched, never disappear. Actually, a government bureau is the nearest thing to eternal life we'll ever see on this earth!

Well it is time we start ending this myth of eternal life in government programs.  Only God can deliver eternal life, not politicians.
