Former Red Cedar Golf Course Sells for $2.2 Million

According to the Lansing State Journal, the city of Lansing closed Friday on the sale of part of the former Red Cedar golf course for $2.2 million.

Workers plan to break ground Oct. 10 at the site, which is slated to include hotel, retail and residential space.

Construction of the $250 million project could be completed by fall 2022.

Friday's sale to developers Joel Ferguson of Lansing and Frank Kass of Columbus, Ohio follows years of discussions about the property's future.

In 2012, city voters first authorized Lansing to sell the land, which was designated as city owned parkland.

Since then, City Council has approved a series of development agreements for the Red Cedar project, but developers never closed on sale of the riverfront property until this year. Please click on the above link for more information.
