Former Michigan State University president Lou Anna Simon will return to a Charlotte courthouse today, where witnesses are expected to testify about what she knew about a 2014 Title IX investigation into Larry Nassar's conduct.

According to the Lansing State Journal, the investigation is central to the case against Simon, who faces felony charges of lying to police officers investigating how the university handled complaints against Nassar, a convicted sexual predator who practiced medicine at the university for 20 years.

A continuation of Simon's preliminary examination was scheduled to start at 9 a.m. Monday in Eaton County District Court, proceed through the morning, resume Tuesday morning and possibly continue April 16.

Simon stepped down as MSU president a few hours after Nassar was sentenced in Ingham County Circuit Court in January 2018.
