The Detroit Free Press is reporting that Ford Motor Company is recalling some 270,000 of its vehicles over gear shift issues.

According to the report, the majority of the affected vehicles are 2013-2016 Ford Fusion sedans that may rollaway from owners unexpectedly when they expect their car to be in park. There have been reports of property damage and one injury over this problem.

Meanwhile, 2,760 Ford Ranger pickup trucks are being recalled over fasteners securing the shift cable to the truck's transmission. This could lead a driver to believe that the vehicle is in a different gear than it actually is in, also causing a potential rollaway or on road crash. No accidents or injuries have been reported with this problem.
