The Lansing State journal is reporting that the City of Lansing and The State of Michigan have officially awarded the proper licenses to two facilities that will begin adult-use recreational marijuana sales in the city.

According to the report, Homegrown Cannabis Company and Pure Options, both on South Pennsylvania Avenue, will be the first two current medical marijuana dispensaries to legally sell to adults 21 and older. Both facilities have received their state licenses, and will begin recreational sales on Friday.

According to the report, there are nine other businesses awaiting state licensing in Lansing, after city officials granted them, Homegrown Cannabis, and Pure Options conditional adult-use retail licenses last week.

Another dispensary opened up for recreational sales earlier this week in Mid-Michigan, as Lume opened up in Owosso on Tuesday. Lume also has locations in Northern Michigan in the towns of Honor and Evart.
