You can expect the City of East Lansing to test their fire hydrants' performances with hydrant flow tests on Monday, June 15th.

According to WILX, the city is going to be testing different hydrants throughout the city to collect data to ensure the reliability of the East Lansing water system.

During these tests, you could see a cloudy or rusty looking water. Officials say that this shouldn't pose and health risks, but would like to remind you to check your laundry or other projects to prevent discoloration.

If you do happen to experience and discoloration, run some cold water through a non-aerated faucet, like a bathtub or an outdoor hose, for roughly ten minutes until the water becomes clear.
