The National Park Service is in the process of putting together a "Hazardous Tree Management Plan" for the Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore.  An environmental assessment is one of the things that would have to be approved before it could be put in place. The objective is to keep tabs on any problems related to the Emerald Ash Borer and Beech Bark Disease and keep them in check. The Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore is along Lake Michigan's eastern coastline and was established in 1970. It spans about 35 miles and is in Leelanau and Benzie counties.
